Andrea De Domenico

Deputy Head of Office - the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs

Acting Head of OCHA oPt since July 2022.

Before taking up this role, he had served as Deputy Head of Office since 2019. He has more than twenty years of experience in humanitarian assistance and emergency relief, both at the field and headquarters.

Mr. De Domenico joined OCHA DRC in 2005, where he initially worked on planning and then moved to humanitarian financing, managing one of the first common humanitarian funds established by OCHA.

In 2011, he joined the Funding Coordination Section at OCHA New York, where since 2015, he served as the Head of Section.

Between 1998 and 2005, Mr. De Domenico worked in Albania, the DRC, Kosovo and Pakistan, with various NGOs, managing humanitarian programmes and operations in different sectors.

Mr. De Domenico holds a double master’s degree in Political Science from Università di Padova and International Relations from Luiss Rome, as well as a bachelor’s degree in International Law from Paris IX.
