E-Library

Welcome to the MAS Library webpage. This tool allows our esteemed visitors to view MAS’s studies, research, and publications (the outputs of our programs and activities), in addition to obtaining free and full texts, as well as browsing the contents of the MAS Library shelves through the electronic library page.

General Background:
The Palestine Economic Policy Research Institute (MAS) Library is one of the largest and most important specialized libraries in the country. It is a vital center for economic and social data in support of research. It provides its services to researchers at MAS and from the local research and academic community, working with the institutions of the Palestinian National Authority and the Palestinian Legislative Council, as well as university students, members of non-governmental organizations, and researchers from the private sector.

Library Holdings:
The Library's holdings currently include 21,332 titles, 70% of which are in English and 30% in Arabic. The Library receives seven important periodicals, specializing in economics, in the English language. The library is a member of the American Economic Association (AEA). The Library also provides access to electronic copies of Haaretz newspaper, The Economist magazine, and three local Arabic newspapers. The Library obtains numerous periodicals and newspapers, through the gift and exchange program. The Library subscribes to the JSTOR database, JPASS, and IMF electronic databases. Users can access all of these through computers provided by the Library specifically for research purposes. The Library uses the LibSys data management system, which allows researchers to view all the contents of the Library through an automated index. This system also provides access to the full text of all MAS’s publications from 1998 onwards.
