Enhancing the Institutional Capacity of Creative Industries: Handicrafts, Footwear and Leather, and Furniture
This report presents an institutional assessment of the federations representing three key creative industry sub-sectors in Palestine: handicrafts, footwear and leather, and furniture. These federations serve as vital representative bodies for MSMEs, artisans, and producers, advocating for their interests, supporting market access, and contributing to sectoral growth. The study aims to examine their institutional capacities, identify structural and governance gaps, and assess the degree of inclusiveness, particularly the participation of women, youth, and marginalized enterprises, within their organizational frameworks.
Building on this assessment, the report develops strategic action plans tailored to each federation, focusing on four key areas: governance, organizational strategy, inclusiveness, and communication. The ultimate goal is to provide actionable recommendations and practical roadmaps that can strengthen the role of these federations as effective representatives of their sectors, enhance their sustainability, and enable them to play a stronger role in supporting Palestine’s economic and cultural development.
