MAS’s Board of Trustees Elects Mr. Samir Huleileh as New Chairman
March 2015, Ramallah. MAS’s Board of Trustees (BOT) held its Twenty-Third Annual Assembly this March, where the members discussed the annual report of the Director General and approved the final audited accounts prepared by the Institute’s auditor, Ernst & Young, and the Institute’s budget and research plan for 2015. As per the meeting agenda, the Board elected Mr. Samir Huleileh as its new Chairman, Dr. Ghassan Khatib as Deputy Chairman, Dr. Loay Shabana as Secretary, and Mrs. Magda Salem as Treasurer. Furthermore, three new members joined the Board: Dr. Mohammed Nasr, Mr. Khaled Osaily, and Mr. Bassim Khoury.
It is worth mentioning that Dr. Taher Kanaan was the first elected Chairman of MAS’s BOT (September 1994-November 1998), followed by Dr. Edmond Asfour (November 1998-March 2000), Dr. Ismail Zabri (March 2000-April 2009), Dr. Ghania Malhees (April 2009-February 2012), and Dr. Nabeel Kassis (February 2012-May 2012), who served for a short term only because of his appointment as Minister of Finance in the 14th Palestinian Government.
