MAS contributes Palestine Economy Essay to Routledge MENA Yearbook for fourth year

05 aug 2025

In line with the MAS academic outreach policy, its researchers have contributed for the fourth year to the Middle East and North Africa Yearbook, an essential reference resource for libraries and researchers world-wide. The MAS essay is part of a chapter in the Yearbook addressing all aspects of the Palestinian situation, and has been drafted annually since 2022 to review aggregate economic performance in the preceding year, and key developments affecting the economy. The material included is based on MAS publications such as the Quarterly Economic Monitor and other key reports or work during the period. This collaboration not only puts a Palestinian authorship at the head of this internationally acclaimed reference but also confirms MAS world-class research capacities.

The entire content of the print edition of the MENA Yearbook is also available online at (www.europaworld.com). These reach many end users as they are purchased by academic institutions;  business and international organizations, government departments and embassies, media organizations and public libraries. The most recently published Edition covered the earliest phase of the Israeli war against Gaza Strip, while the MAS essay for the forthcoming issue will cover economic performance as well as critical socio-economic issues arising from the war. Its sections are co-authored by MAS researchers Nu’man Kanafani, Islam Rabee and Anmar Rafeedie.
