Announcement of the Outcomes of a Comprehensive Research Project
The Socio-economic Cost of Settlement and its Impacts in the Occupied Palestinian Territories
MAS, in partnership with the Arab Center for Research and Policy Studies, has spent last year implemented this important project against the backdrop of the ongoing Israeli settlement project and its expansion in the Palestinian territories, which have only accelerated since October 2023. Israel has pursed its quest by expanding current settlements, establishing and legalizing new outposts, and effectively annexing Palestinian land through deed and law. In this light, the project's main study, accompanied by seven other research outputs, provide an updated research reference that diagnoses the current impacts of settlements, and examines its economic and social costs in the broader context of the cost of Israel's occupation of the Palestinian Territories. The study focused on the reality of the settlement expansion until 2024, the demographic, spatial and institutional realities it has produced, and the various channels of its adverse impact on the Palestinian infrastructure, economy, and society.
The webinar will be hosted
