The second quarter of 2015 witnessed a significant improvement in hotel activities in the West Bank including East Jerusalem. 143 thousand guests spent 418 thousand guest nights in the 110 hotels in the West Bank. The number of guests rose by 43% from the previous quarter though it remained 31% below the level in Q2/2014. The increase in the number of guest nights from Q1/2015 was 43%, but the number of guest nights declined by 15% from the corresponding quarter of 2014 nonetheless. 29% of all hotel guests were from the EU countries, while 11% were Palestinians. Room occupancy reached 25%, up from 20% in Q1/2015 and down from 31% in Q2/2014. Hotels employed a total of 3,030 persons, only 23% of whom were females.
