Hotel activities in the West Bank including East Jerusalem experienced a significant slowdown in the first quarter of 2015. The number of hotel guests dropped by 35% from the previous quarter and by 33% from the corresponding quarter of the previous year to about 100 thousand. Of them, 35% were from the European Union, while 10% were Palestinians. These guests spent a total of 292 thousand guest nights in the West Bank hotels, which marked a decline of 29% from Q4/2014 and of 24% from Q1/2014. The 111 hotels in the West Bank offered 6,813 rooms, and room occupancy was 19.8%. As many as 3,075 persons were employed in the hotels: 2,359 males and 716 females.
